Bethlehem Lutheran Church made the decision to move into a new building. As part of their relocation, they have planned for a future school and retirement community as well as walking paths! The first component of the site is a new sanctuary, which included in the planning the relocation of their present instrument, which has faithfully served them for decades! Buzard has taken their original ca. 1908 Hinners Pipe Organ, which was made in Pekin, Illinois, and given it a new life in a new home. In the 1960’s a previous organ company replaced the original Hinners pipe chests and the replacements were not viable for reuse. Fortunately, we at Buzard had saved some beautifully-built Kilgen tracker chests that were made in 1908, and we have used these to serve the congregation in their new home. We have added electric pull down magnets to these chests and they work marvelously well! The original façade was carefully stripped and restored and a few ranks were added at the same time. The instrument now speaks with authority and clarity!
